About My Logo
As a graphic designer some of my favorite work to create is illustration. Logos are especially fun for me, because they must go beyond what is visual to capture the essence of a brand. When I see any logo, it stirs within me a feeling that communicates what the brand is beyond what word can convey.
For my logo, while I wanted to have an appealing symbol, it was very important to me to relay who I am. Faced with the enticingly white canvas of my computer screen, I began to draw, playing with shapes and the letters in my initials, “JC.” What evolved does capture my essence beyond anything else, for those letters began to form the shape of a cross. This is truly beautiful since in my own life, what began as my own identity transformed into a new identity with Christ. With everything I do, I know that it is not through my own strength or power, but the power of Christ who lives in me. My prayer is that anything anyone sees in me, leads back to Him. I could not capture the imagery more perfectly.
“He said to me ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, and in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
(2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
